– There are long queues in the north
At least 20% of census counts have not yet opened nationwide until the second day of the voter registration because of various problems. But our correspondents scattered across all districts report problems are being resolved. The main one continues to be the lack of electrical energy for the operation of the Mobile ID, equipment malfunction and inexperience or bad domain of equipment by the brigadistas.
In the Central and North regions there are long queues of more than 120 people, for example, in the EPC of Napito, EPC of Namuno, in Cabo Delgado. In the provinces of South and parts of Cabo Delgado and Niassa, there are places with no one to register. In Zambézia province, the length of the queues is very variable. At the Muabanama station in Lungela there are more than 130 people in the queues this morning, while at the Patrice Lumumba station in Pebane, people are counted as waiting to be counted. The same is true in the post School Secu i ndária of Maganja da Costa, who this morning there were only 4 people in the queue when our correspondent vistou.
In some posts, only today began the census. These are the cases of EPC July 24 in Xai-Xai, EPC of Nicaca and EPC Mwember in Micanhelas, Niassa.
There are, however, more serious cases in which the census has not yet begun. In Meluli, Nampula, where the tractor carrying the brigade and census material left the Mugovolas village but has not yet reached its destination because it was buried.
In areas affected by the floods in Sofala, the brigades are now moving to Muanza. In Nhamatanda, 9 polling stations did not open yesterday but have already opened today.
